Hang up! It's a scam additional resources
Previously we posted an alert regarding the multiple phone scams regarding the new Medicare ID cards being mailed to all beneficiaries. You don’t have to talk with these callers and should not give any information! You can simply hang up!
For more information on what to do if you receive a call like this go to:
- Medicare will never charge you for your Medicare ID card
- Medicare will never call uninvited and ask you to give any personal information
- Your Medicare card will automatically come to you in the mail. There is nothing you need to do unless your address with Medicare needs to be updated. To update your address you can go to my Social Security account

About Waste Fraud and Abuse

That means that there is less money to help people like you who depend on these programs for health care. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona is actively working to identify, investigate and prosecute health insurance fraud, but we need your help.
Some examples of fraud include:
- Altering claims to obtain higher payments
- Soliciting, offering or receiving a kickback, bribe or rebate
- Using another person's Medicare card to obtain medical care
This is an example of abuse:
- Claims for prescriptions that aren't medically necessary
Every effort will be made to protect the identity of the reporting party. There will be no retaliation for good faith reporting.
